Happy New Year from TruckeeHR! 2023 is only a couple days away so there is no better time to update your policies and your employee handbook. All of the following laws are effective on January 1, 2023.
Add a “Designated Person” to your CFRA and California Paid Family Leave policies.
Update your bereavement policy to allow employees to take up to 5 days of leave (all or a portion can be unpaid time off).
Update policies to reflect changes to attendance and mobile use policies where there are emergency conditions.
Add reproductive health to your anti-discrimination policies.
Minimum wage increases to $15.50 regardless of number of employees.
Minimum salary threshold increases to $64,480 for all California employers.
Have pay ranges for all of your current jobs and provide it to employees whenever they ask to see it.
Post all your current job openings with a pay range in the job posting.
