Important Employee Handbook Updates for 2023

Happy New Year from TruckeeHR! 2023 is only a couple days away so there is no better time to update your policies and your employee handbook. All of the following laws are effective on January 1, 2023.

  • Add a “Designated Person” to your CFRA and California Paid Family Leave policies.

  • Update your bereavement policy to allow employees to take up to 5 days of leave (all or a portion can be unpaid time off).

  • Update policies to reflect changes to attendance and mobile use policies where there are emergency conditions.

  • Add reproductive health to your anti-discrimination policies.

  • Minimum wage increases to $15.50 regardless of number of employees.

  • Minimum salary threshold increases to $64,480 for all California employers.

  • Have pay ranges for all of your current jobs and provide it to employees whenever they ask to see it.

  • Post all your current job openings with a pay range in the job posting.
